Proud To Be An American
I am so proud right now, I mean really proud. Where do I begin. I have always been proud to be an American(it's as prestigious as being a student at Harvard, joke). It's all because of the election process, where anyone who can make a change, has a chance. I really believe that americans of all races will vote for the woman or african-american man they really feel can bring about change to our great nation. This presidental election has been history in the making from the start. A woman and an african-american man both running for the democratic nomanation for President of the United States Of America, what's next? And, now Barack Obama has accepted the nomination for his party. And he will win.
I'm listening for the 1st time, The Next President of The USA accepting the democratic nomanation for president.
Never in my lifetime did I ever think this would happen. I'm sure my mom never thought she would seee this either and I know she along with others her age are so happy. When I say that I mean everybody not just black folk. I really believe he will win. Not because he is black, but because I feel he is what this nation needs. We want change.
Here's a little something I found on BET's webpage:
Kanye West is bittersweet about Barack Obama’s candidacy for president. West calls it “an incredible time” but he says, “I wish my mamma could have seen this day.” West was in Denver at the Democratic National Convention. He and Jamie Foxx performed a song dedicated to Obama at a party sponsored by Bono and the Recording Industry Association of America. Onstage Foxx declared, “With Obama, we make history.” Meanwhile, Oprah Winfrey, an early supporter of Obama, backing him even before the Democratic primaries got under way last year, said she cried her “eyelashes off” when Obama accepted the Democratic nomination. She said Obama’s speech was the “most powerful thing” she has ever experienced.
So as you can see americans of all races, ages, and social backgrounds want change. We want Barck Obama for president!!!!
